Boys And vs. Girls Names

Hi everyone! My husband and I are having a hard time deciding on a name. Gender is unknown! He or she will be joining older brother Russell Brian. My favorite girl names are Vera Maryann and Lila Maryann (Maryann is a family name and stays), my favorite boy name is Seth, but my husband hates it. I’ve found some boy names he likes: Wyatt Daniel, Grant Isaiah, Dain Alexander. We tend to like older underused names, but not anything too ’out there.’ Please leave comments on our names and any suggestions you may have to help us find our perfect name. I like Vera Maryann and Dain Alexander. Wyatt is becoming super popular. I’d avoid that one.

Dain Alexander was originally our #1 choice for a boy. But someone pointed out that his initials would be D.A.M. And it made us second guess. Do you think it would still be okay to use?

I love Dain Alexander! And I don’t think initials are an issue; when are they ever used to refer to someone? The only time I’ve ever seen them used is on monogrammed backpacks and things like that. Plus, "[removed]" is spelled with an "n". Your son would have the initials of a beaver hideout, which is cool.

Haha thank you! I probably wouldn’t have even really noticed if that one person hadn’t pointed it out. Boys aren’t too big on monogramming anyways. Thanks again. If it’s a boy, he’ll be Dain Alexander. :)

We’ve decided on Dain Alexander if it’s a boy. It has a lot of special meaning for me. I had older twin brothers who passed away and their names were Logan Dain and Ian Alexander.

I’ve always loved names like River and Sawyer but I think it sounds funny with surname Miller. I like Jack but I don’t know about having a Jack and a Russell lol.
