Absolutely love vs. my short list of names!

My husband and I have had a list for so many years! We are now finally pregnant with our first baby boy! We will post the list of names in the first comment! Please don’t be rude because it has taken us forever to just narrow it down this far. We would love if you could give us opinions on why or why not you like the names. Oh, my! Handsome names! I agree with you wholeheartedly; I absolutely love your short list! I think they all sound very handsome and classy. Strong, but lovable. My favorite’s Alistair, but you really cannot go wrong! Amazing names! :-)

Alaric - I actually like this name. Its a guilty pleasure of mine. I love the sound of it, kind of like a medieval knight.
Alistair - NMS but its not bad. It reminds me of Professor Moody in Harry Potter
Victor - Again NMS but not bad. Its a classic
Brooks- A little pretentious sounding to me
Matthew - A solid classic. Love it.
Rhys - One of my favorite names. Very handsome!

My favorites are Rhys, Alaric & Matthew. Good Luck!

Alaric- love it.
Alistair- also love it.
Victor- Too old.
Brooks- I like it but only for girls.
Matthew- I prefer Matt.
Rhys- Love the name.

Nice list. I’d probably eliminate Matthew simply because it is the least unique. It would be a nice middle name though.

You have a good list. But it’s all a matter of opinion and everyone is going to have a different one. My favorite is Alistair. The only ones I’m not a fan of are Matthew and Victor and it’s because they are too common, while other people might like them better for that reason. GL!

I love almost all of these names too! Matthew does happen to take the top; been a favorite for years for me. Probably, my preferred order would be ... Matthew, Alaric, Alistair, Rhys, Victor, and then Brooks. Brooks is the only I’m not fond of, and it’s simply because I have a daughter named Brooke, so Brooke and Brooks feel very feminine to me.

Alaric -- I, surprisingly, really like this name!
Alistair -- Quite possibly my favorite from your list!
Victor -- I just can’t seem to picture a little boy with this name
Brooks -- Not my style
Matthew -- One of my favorite names, if you don’t mind the popularity
Rhys -- Lovely!

Alaric - LOVE this one, sounds so badass
Alistair - Quite like this. I do like that its both recognisable and underused
Victor - I’m afraid this one will always make me think of Frankenstein. Maybe as a middle
Brooks - Really liking this one recently. Very distinguished sounding. Makes a fantastic middle name too
Matthew - Nice enough name, but I don’t even have enough fingers to list the number of Matts I know
Rhys - Definitely the best spelling. Really great name

Alaric Brooks would totally be my pick!

Alaric and Alistair are both amazing! I’d say absolutely choose one of these! I also like Matthew, Rhys, and Brooks, but more as middle names. I’ve never been a fan of Victor, so that’s my least favorite from your list. Good luck :)

Loving Matthew Rhys, followed by Alistair Brooks. The first is classic but modern at the same time; the second has a more serious, very British vibe.

Alaric- I used to like this, but there’s some prescription drug advertised on tv and it sounds similar to this. So, no.
Alistair- This is great! Sounds sophisticated.
Victor- I dislike because of a personal bad association with a kid I knew in school who used to play with himself very openly.
Brooks-For me, this one sounds a little on the pretentious side.
Matthew- I adore this name! The best!
Rhys- While I like the sound of this name, I think the spelling is, well, I don’t know, but I just don’t like the spelling.
