Jude, Miles vs. And ???

Hey! We have two sons, Jude and Miles, and we’re now expecting our third-a little girl! While we are super excited, we can’t find anything that we really truly love for her name. We don’t want anything too trendy that won’t age well but we don’t want anything that is too old and looks odd on a child. Do you have any ideas? We hate unisex or boy names for girls, so none of those and only suggest first names please! We also do not want to use another J or M name. Thanks! -Ellie and Taylor

We like Lucy and Alice (though DH is wondering if Alice is too old), thanks! We both like the sound of Ella as well but it’s really, really close to my name which makes me slightly uncomfortable

What do you think of Genevieve, Lila, Adelyn, Gemma, Everly, Rebecca, Lydia, or Clara?

Mia is definitely out since it starts with M; Lucy is still in the mix. We like Clara (DH thinks it may be too old), Lydia, Lila, and Ava, thanks! We do like Ella but it still makes me uncomfortable so I think we may just take that out of the running as well

Oh, my bad... Sorry, long day. I guess I shouldn’t be skim reading. I do think Ella and Ellie are too close. I love your choices! Except Ava is very popular where I live. Clara doesn’t seem too old to me at all.

I somewhat figure most people don’t really read the names of the people who have posted polls, so no hard feelings! Ava is supposedly very common here, though as a teacher, I think I have only ever had 1 Ava come through my room! DH has some very strange thoughts of what he thinks sounds too old and what doesn’t, so usually I can let the ones he thinks are go just for the sake of trying to agree!

Haha, oh nice. I live on the same street as an in-home daycare center and a few years ago there were 2 little girls who were very close in age and both named Ava. One was named Ava Jean and one was named Ava Jane so we called the younger child "Baby Ava" for a while. Ava is not super common, but it certainly isn’t unusual. Not to get too distracted, but... What grade do you teach?

We want both Jude and Miles to have some say in their little sister’s name, so we may keep Ava on the list and if either of them say they like it we will probably talk more in depth about the popularity of Ava. I teach third grade

I really do love Lucy, Lydia, Lila (wow, seeing a theme though) and Clara. Do you already have a middle name in mind? If I’m not mistaken, Jude is a Biblical name. Is that a factor in choosing a name?

We don’t like any of those, thanks though! She will have her grandmothers names as her middle name and it doesn’t matter if the name is biblical or not to us!

Allison is a tad dated to us and doesn’t give us that gilt factor we were looking for, thanks though! Her grandmothers are Jackie and Jean so we are going to wait until we have a first name to decide on which order we like better

That’s ironic that I mentioned an Ava Jean earlier. I understand about Allison. Maybe you should use Jane so that you have a bit of both name and don’t hurt either grandmothers’ feelings. Just a thought.
Jean sounds adorable with several of the names on the list though.
