Stellan James vs. Stellan Everett

My husband and I are having a really hard time deciding on a middle name. We\’re having a boy and for years we\’ve loved the name Stellan. We think it pairs really nicely with our last name, Drake and we like that it\’s different. But my husband wants to use the family name, James for his middle name and for some reason the name isn\’t sitting well with me. I keep finding myself gravitating toward Everett. I don\’t know if I\’m just being difficult or if Im on to something so id really appreciate any feedback. By the way, our daughter\’s name is Avery Charlotte. And we\’re set on Stellan as a first name so please recommend middle names only. Thanks SO much!!

LOVE Stellan! I think James gives it good grounding as a steady classic.

Stellan James for sure!

I think Everett is a little feminine, and Stellan is pretty close to Stella. Don’t get me wrong, I think Stellan is awesome, but I’d definitely use Stellan James because it’s a stronger male name.

I love Everett! I don’t think it’s feminine at all. I know a little boy named Everett, adorable little blond thing.
Both Stellan James and Stellan Everett flow well, but with Drake, I’d go with Stellan Everett Drake. I guess James doesn’t appeal to me so much in the full combo because it’s so... common. And because Drake is also 1 syllable and has the same vowel sounds.
And I don’t thnk you should worry about a ’strong male name’. He’ll define his name. And how many people will know his middle name, anyway?
Try saying both full names out loud. Imagine shouting for your little boy, "STELLAN -middle name- DRAKE, COME HERE THIS INSTANT", for example.

Best of luck!
