Changing vs. The vs. Choices

Hey there! Those that voted/commented on our poll thought it would be a good idea to change our names due to their popularity and our common last name. However, we haven’t found any less-common names that we love! We still want a normal sounding name, nothing misspelled or made up (and nothing unisex for a girl). Do you have any suggestions? If it helps, our original choices were Liam and Ethan for a boy and Emma and Ava for a girl. Please only give first name suggestions, thank you!

We really don’t want names that look like or are a spin off our original choices, we want completely different names. We don’t mind Emilia/Amelia and Evan but both are still pretty popular here and I have a somewhat bad connection with Emilia/Amelia

We like Lila, Levi, Landon, and Liliana (though we’re a little nervous that "Lily" was ranked number eight last year)

I love the name Emma. I don’t care how popular it gets, my daughter will still be named Emma. I think it’s a beautiful and timeless name, and feminine without being frilly. Basically, Emma is all I want in a name. The extreme popularity isn’t ideal, but your daughter will make her name stand out, not the other way around. And personally, I loved having a popular name. Many of my girl friends have the same name as me, and it’s a cute convo starter/way to bond when the kids are little. So, if you feel this way about either Emma or Liam, I say go with your gut and use them. Popular names are popular for a reason! Good luck!

We like (and would consider) Lucy, Violet, Declan, Gavin, and Gideon! We like some others too but they were too popular for us. If we can’t find anything we love more than our original choices we may get over the popularity factor, but our last name is super common so if we can find a less-common name that we love then that would be great

You can make these names more original by giving them more unique middle names.

Trendy:
Emma Avery or Liam Archer

Classic:
Emma Caroline or Liam Nathaniel

Alliteration:
Emma Evangeline or Liam Lorenzo

Nature:
Emma Juniper or Liam Rowan

Those are just some examples. What do you think?

Middle names are 100% saved for a family name, but we like Everett! Hollykins yours are a little too out there for us, while the French names would most likely be pronounced right where we live, they would be super difficult for my family who does not speak French. We don’t want to have to deal with pronunciation issues
