Ayla/ Éila vs. ??
I love Irish names and came across Éila/ Éile which I read is pronounced like Ayla, but when I look up the name Ayla it says that it’s Turkish. I love the sound of the name but feel like the Éile/Éila spellings would always be pronounced like eye-la or EE-la. What do you think about the spelling?

And I also forgot to mention that we like Éilis but can’t use it because our last name is one syllable and ends in the same "sh" sound.

All traditionally Irish names are going to have serious pronunciation problems. Some have become more known and migtlht have fewer problems in certain circles, but I doubt many people will pronounce Eile how you want.
I suggest Ayla is that’s what you want her to be called.
