Help vs. Please!

Hi everyone! My boyfriend and I have been discussing names for our princess and my boyfriend suggested Hattie/Hatty. I love the vintage feel of it but my problem is that he plays hockey and wants to use it because it is a slang term for a hat trick. I do not want my little girl’s name to have that kind of connection. I’m not a fan of Hetty/Hettie, Henrietta, or Harriet but can you think of any names that are similar to Hattie/Hatty? The names don’t even have to sound similar, they could just be of the same style. Thank you! ~Norah

Hailey is similar don’t you think?

I just want to say that I wouldn’t make the hockey connection.

Hailey is similar but I’ve met one too many Hailey’s in my time—most of them being mean ones. Sorry!

HALLIE!! I love Hallie or Halle more than anything :)

I feel like people that aren’t familiar with hockey it wouldn’t be a problem with, but we are always around people who know hockey terms and either are fans or play/have played. I just can’t get myself to even consider it at this point because I can’t separate the two in my mind

Hallie would be nice do you think that would work

I’m not loving Hallie/Halle. Sorry!

Also I’m sorry for being behind on comments! We are currently in the car so I am using my cell phone which is being slow today :(

I like Matilda a lot! But the only problem is I don’t like Mattie :/ I have some male friends named Matthew that go by Matt or Matty and I’ve met a lot of girl Maddie’s (a lot of them were really bratty), sorry!

So some other vintage feel names are;

Personally I’d stick with Hattie and I really don’t think Hallie is similar

I like Daisy! But have bad news, I mentioned Della and Matilda to my boyfriend and Matilda has been shot down, hard. He said Della could grow on him though!

I’m not loving Bonnie or Maisie and Maggie is the name of a good friend. Sorry!

Bad news again, boyfriend doesn’t like Daisy (reminds him of a dog). So right now the only one that is in the running is Della!

Hadley...He could still call her Hattie but it’s a little bit fuller and very cute

Kitty! Super cute!

I really, really don’t like Hadley for a girl. Sorry! I also want to completely avoid Hattie, I just can’t separate the connection and I don’t want to be thinking of "hat trick" every time I say her name. Maybe I’ll buy my boyfriend a pet fish that he can name Hattie/Hatty

What do you think of Sadie? It’s vintage, and it also means princess, which you called your baby girl in the post:)
