Suggestions vs. Needed vs. Please!

Hi! My boyfriend and I are expecting a baby girl but we need your help. We love old fashioned, super girly names but we’ve been told by some family that all of our names sound super pretentious and as if we are trying to hard when we say the names with her last name. We like Lydia, Celia, Eloise, and Aurora! Genevieve was a name we were originally considering but took off; and we like Cordelia but we don’t like Cordelia Couture for some reason!

I think you need a shorter name, one that’s well-known, although not necessarily popular. Some of your choices are lovely, but they do sound a bit much with Couture. And also, names that are modern or trendy will just sound like you’re trying to be hip and cool or name a perfume brand. Unfortunately, that’s the name you have to work with. Something like Sarah Couture or Lauren Couture would sound perfectly fine. Elsa Couture nn Elsie would also be fine.
