Shelby vs. Shelbie vs. Shelbee

I like the original spelling Shelby for girl #2, hubby likes Shelbie, so it is in connection with his moms name Katie and our older girl Alice likes Shelbee, so she can spell her nn Bee

Keep the traditional spelling, otherwise it will be misspelled all her life. Shelby is a nice choice. You can still nickname her Bee... the nickname doesn’t have to be spelled exactly like the name.

I voted for Shelbie because of the connection with your your husbands mother. However, Shelby is also nice. And either spelling still means you can spell the nn Bee.

I don’t know if Shelby is set in stone, but I personally feel like its not the best fit with Alice. My suggestion is Beatrice, which is more stylistically compatible with Alice and also lends itself the nickname Bee :)

I also like the suggestion of Beatrice! Shelby is such a macho car name (Check out Shelby Cobra). Maybe save it for a future boy.
