Hi, I really like Southern Belle type names. I really like Delilah, but hubby shot it down. Any ideas of cute, Southern sounding names?

i really think of something like briann or rhiannon but that may be because of people i’ve known too. maybe tallulah? seems similar to delilah. maybe something with two names lik a name with jo, lynn, may, jean, kay, lou, ray, faye, or ann. attached. billie, ada, jean, lisa, loriann, cariann, ellie-may/ella-may, heidi, barbara, sheryl, clementine, sheila, sharon, molly, corabelle, mirabelle, georgia, sadie, shelby, susannah, dinah, charlotte, constance - connie, bonnie, caroline?
some of these aren’t straightforward southern but can be in the right situation isuppose.

I don’t think names like Brieley Mae and Billie Jo, are all that classic and long lasting. Think about your children going off to college and becoming a doctor, FBI investigator or congress member. Why would they want a name like Billie Jo?

Sorry, just my two cents.

I can’t believe I didn’t see a single Dixie in this list! I’m from the south and I had grandmothers & g-grands named Amelia (which I named my daughter), Adalaine, Ava & Eula;aunts called Genevieve, Maggie, Elouise, Dixie, Virginia and Willow - all pretty southern sounding to me.

I named my daughter Paisley LulaBelle! I’m expecting now! If it’s a girl, I’m really looking the name Ellie or Ella Mae! If it’s a boy, his name will be Juddson Orville!

Carrie Opal sounds really southern too.

We named our daughter Madilyn Mae. I was very surprised to see Madison and not Madilyn. I honestly don’t think that Madison is very Sourhern sounding, but that’s only my opinion.
