Keira vs. Nicknames

Hi Everyone! My hubby and I love the name Keira (pronounced Key-air-ah)..only problem is we really want the name to have cute shorter nickname. All we can think of is KiKi...which we do not like at all. Any ideas of a good nickname for Keira? Thank you! :)

Keira is kee-rah, and everyone will pronounce it that way... if you want kee-air-ah I’d use something like Kierra.

Well, if you want the pronunciation ’key-air-ah,’ I wouldn’t use Keira. Keira is pronounced ’keer-ah.’ Kiara or Chiara would work for the pronunciation you want. Ciara is an Irish name pronounced keer-ah traditionally, but the Anglicized version is pronounced kee-ar-ah.

I also wanted to use that pronunciation for that name. The only thing is, Keira is supposed to be Keer-ah. The best way to go is spell it Kierra. Love the name btw

I agree with everyone about the pronunciation. Kiara would be the best spelling in my opinion. For nicknames, maybe Kira, Kiri, Kia, or Kara?

My doggies name is Keira (named after Keira Knightly the actress) I got her from a rescue organization. They rescue, rehabilitate, treat, and heal abused and neglected animals. The owner of Marley's Mutts named her after one of his favorite actresses. Anyways I love the name for girls too and my nickname for her will be "Kay-Kay" or "RiRi"

The spelling of Keira is pronunced "Keer-rah" that's what I'm told

My name is Keira ( key-ruh ), and honestly, everyone pronounces it key-air-uh. And quite frankly, the only nickname I've ever gotten was Kiwi. So, there really aren't any good nicknames.
