Casper Annaleigh vs. Caspar Annaleigh
I am pregnant with a baby girl and I chose the name Casper. I thought Casper was the only spelling, but I recently had someone ask if I was spelling is Caspar. Which spelling do you like best? Which is the most common? I know Casper is a name you either love or hate, but I only need to know which spelling. I don’t need to know that it makes you think of Casper the friendly ghost. Thank you

Casper is quite solidly a boy’s name. What about Caspianne? It’s a feminized form of Caspian, which is a gorgeous name. Or you could spell it Caspian, since you seem to like more masculine names.
Cassandra is also similar.

I would strongly advise you don’t name your daughter Casper/Casper. You might as well just name her Robert.

It reminds me of a boy. So unless Annaleigh is your last name and not the middle name I wouldn’t use it for a girl. And I like unisex names for girls so this isn’t from someone who just hates the idea of unisex names/masculine names on girls.

Casper is a boys name and it should stay that way, maybe safe it for when/if you have a boy? Annaleigh is nice though.

Read my post again everyone! I don’t care if you hate it or if it reminds you of a ghost. Which spelling?

Casper is nice. You’ll probably name a son Kimberly and your next daughter John by the way this is going. Also DO NOT Spell it Kaspyr or any other tacky name spelling to make it "Feminine". It will np make it worse.

I just checked and apparently only 9 girls have been named this ever. That’s how you know it’s bad for a girl...

I know you don’t want to hear this but Casper/Caspar is simply awful for a girl, I am sorry to have to say this.
It is a very masculine name and there is no doubt she will be teased mercilessly.

Cas will probably be my only child btw.
Only nine girls have been named it? I know it’s good then and she won’t have girls in her class with the same name as her. I’m sorry but you guys will not persuade me to change the name. My daughters name is Casper. End of story. Why does it effect you so much?

Any name that can be changed to, sounds like anally is not good. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that out!

Casper/Caspar is a wonderful name. Wonderful, wonderful name...for a boy. However, for a girl, it is frankly a terrible name. I’m sorry, I know you seem to be stuck on it, but please consider who will be carrying this burden. Not you, not your husband, but your daughter. She’ll have to deal with the funny stares, the hassle of having to affirm that she IS a girl, not a boy. And the occasional laugh to her face. I’m sorry, but these things are pretty much a guarantee with this name. You’ll be making her life unnecessarily difficult. Of course you aren’t doing it on purpose, but you will be, unwittingly or no.
You seem to like the nickname Cas. I love it as well. How do you feel about Cassandra? Any nicknames you had planned out for Casper could be used with Cassandra, so you really wouldn’t be losing anything.
