I’m expecting a baby girl and my husband an I love the name Luca/Luka! We just can’t decide how to spell it. Which spelling looks best and please suggest middle names as well! Thank you :)

the K makes it look more like Luke which, to me, makes it look more like the masculine spelling.

Luca is a boy’s name, and would be inappropriate for a girl. Lucia is the feminine version, and a much better choice.

Hi there...I definitely believe this is a boy’s name, regardless of the spellings; it’s the Latin form of "Lucas." My girlfriend has a daughter named Lucia, the female version, and it’s beautiful. Pronounced Lu-chee-a.

Luca is all boy, no matter how many people try to make it feminine by changing the spelling and giving it to their daughters, it will always be a boy name. I love the name, on a boy, but for a girl is just sounds wrong. I agree that Lucia is the better feminine version. I say it Lou-shu though. Both ways are great though.

Luca is cute for a girl. I think Luca is best, it makes it look sweet. Luka looks kind of harsh to me. Lol idk why.
Doesn’t listen to people saying to change it to Lucia. They did it to me too with my soon to be daughter name (Hayes/Haze, they wanted me to change it to Hazel).

We won’t be changing the name Luca to Lucia, it’s a family name.

If you must stay with this boy’s name, use Luca Sophia since Noelle is also unisex.

And for the girl naming her daughter Hayes, that’s just sad. It isn’t even a cute boy’s name, let alone cute enough for a girl.

In Hawaiian Luka translates to either Ruth or Luke. Princess Luka is well known in Hawaiian history and her Kahili can be found at the Bishop Museum. My daughters name is Luka. I admit, in Hawaii it is still a unique name. There is a cute book called, Luka’s Quilt. It is a story about a little Hawaiian girl name Luka and Tutu (Grandma).
