I think Jocelyn is a prettier spelling. I think Josie is an adorable nickname for it. I love it.

Why does Jocelyn need a nickname? Nicknames are to shorten the number of syllables when the name is said, and you’re not doing that here. Josie doesn’t shorten anything as far as how long the name is when you have to say it. They are both 2 syllables. Just call her Jocelyn.

My husband prefers Jocelyn and I like Josie. The way I pronounce Jocelyn is 3 syllables and Josie is two so it actually is shorter. We thought we could both have our way by using both names
