I always wanted to name a kid Rain, but I never could find the right way to do it. Rain feels too short as it is only one syllable, but personally I think Rainy and Raina both sound silly. I think the best way would be to give her two first names and just say both. That way you get the solidness of more than one syllable but the ability to fit in a little more then the hippy-ness of Raina or Rainy. (Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against hippies, but if the goal of parenting is to introduce your child to as many possibilities as possible than this includes opportunities that judge the new age movement.)
