Kendall vs. Yes vs. No
Hi I’m Ally, Mommy to 11 month old Tia. I’m expecting my second child in mid August, gender unknown. If we have another girl she will either be Kalyn, Cassie or Addie. We love Kendall for a boy but we’re not sure if it’s too popular for a girl right now. What do you think, unisex or too girly?

To me it had always sounded masculine. I do see girls named Kendall as often as boys but don’t let it stop you. GL!

I think of it as on the girly side.
what bout Kennon?
The meaning of Kennon is "handsome, fire born"of Scottish origin.

I think Kendall is unisex but I like it best as a girl’s name. Not a fan of Kalyn and I think Cassie and Addie are great as nicknames.
I would go with Kendall/Kyndall for a girl and Kennon/Keenan or Kendrick for a boy.

It’s always seemed very masculine to me.
I just looked at the numbers and it’s more popular for girls but there were still 365 baby boys named Kendall in 2012.
Personally I think it’s better for a boy.

I like it for a boy.
Not sure where the poster above got that stat, but the Social Security Admin website (http://www.ssa.gov/cgi-bin/babyname.cgi) lists Kendall for a boy as the 648th most-popular boy name in 2012 (down from 360th most popular in 2000). It was 116th most-popular for girls in 2012 (up from 217th in 1999).

The number of babies given the name is different than the popularity rank. The number of babies was 365 and the popularity rank was 648th for 2012. For Kendall as a boy name.

Thank you for the feedback everyone, we haven’t made up our minds about using it just yet but we’re definitely more informed. Thanks!
