Hailee Grace vs. Haylee Grace vs. Hailey Grace

We had a name picked out and then last night he decides to admit that he’s not crazy about it. We really like Hailee but my sister-in-laws parents adopted a little girl with that name and I don’t want to look like a copycat. My mom says its fine because there’s no Hailee’s in my family or my husbands and they didn’t choose to name the little girl that, it was already her name. She is at my parents quite often and I don’t want it to be weird. I would spell the name differently than she does (hers is Halie) and with a different middle name so do you think it would be alright? I’m running out of options because it seems all the names I like are taken!

How disappointing. I’m sure you could go ahead, but I understand your caution. Could you go with something close?......like Kaylee? Kaylee Alyssa sounds great....or Kaylee Grace.

Rylee, Hannah, Halle (Hal-lee instead of Hay-lee), Callie, Kylie...all work well with Grace. I wouldn’t want to have the same name in the family but it is up to you

Thanks for the suggestions. Our daughter is already Kaylin so we can’t do Kaylee, Callie was an option until my cousins just named their new dog that, I love Kylie but can’t convince him, I don’t care for Rylee and I suggested Halle but we are afraid that everyone will pronounce it Haylee anyway and we already have that problem with everyone thinking Kaylin is either Kayla or Katelyn. Do you think that would happen? See why I’m stuck? It’s starting to get really frusturating!!!! I’m trying to come up with some other ideas right now. Any suggestions would be great!

Okay, here are someof my ideas:

Halle Lauryn - I’m still considering this (maybe spelled Hallie?)
Gracelyn or Gracie Lynn
Brielle
Ella
Eva
Alyssa
Larissa
Kyla
Leah

I’m sure he’ll wake up in a little while and shoot half of these down, but I’m trying to find something!!

I like the name and spelling "Hallie". I think it’s a little tomboy-ish and a little girly... just the right mix. Plus, with that spelling, only illiterate people would mispronounce it! :) And Grace is an adorable middle name to go with it.

Hallie is good....and you could still pair it with Grace.
If you used Alyssa, you could call her Ali.
How about Ella Brianne
Larissa Grace
Isadora or Isabelle and call her Izzy or Belle
Etta Isabelle

I would spell it Hayley or Haley personally although Hailey is also fine. Halle is a cute suggestion and I think most people would pronounce it correctly, especially because of the actress Halle Berry. Grace would be lovely as a first name and you both seem to like that. Mayley or Fayley would also be cute.

How about Carly/Carley? That’s the name we were going to use but we are having another boy. Another option might be Allison and call her Allie. That was our second choice name.

My sister and I both named our daughters Lauren. She wouldn’t change her name and I wouldn’t change mine. When we are together I call mine, Lauren Nicole. It hasn’t been a problem.

What about Holly?

How about calling her by her first and middle all the time? I think Hailey Grace is a beautiful name...then you don’t have to compromise on the name that you want and it is still different. ......Good Luck!

Name your Daughter what you feel comfortable with. I’m sure your sister-in-law won’t mind. Also little kids like to have the same name. It’s like cool you have the same name as me we can be best friends and as they get older if they want some difference between them they have nicknames thaey can go by. My neices name is Hailey we call her lilo
