Novalee vs. Novalie

I did another poll yesterday and apparently no one likes the spelling Novali. I dont like Novaleigh, but i am partial to these 2 spellings. Which do you like best?

I prefer Novalee. I think it looks the best. Novalie makes me think of Natalie. Pluse, in the book and movie "where the heart it" it’s spelled Novalee, so I am kinda partial to that spelling. Good luck, let us know what you decide.

im a writer so naming my daughter Novella would be too cheesey for my taste. Also, my husband’s grandmother’s name is Nola Lee so we like that Novalee is very similar. I just cant get into the spelling Novalee... it looks too strange to me and i think that "ee" is way too trendy right now. I really liked Novali and im starting to like Novalie more and more. ah idk!

I don’t think two e’s look childish and trendy. It’s like adding two names Nova + Lee = Novalee. Also your husband’s grandmother used two e’s in Lee, so it would be even more similiar. But, if you don’t like Novalee, then don’t go for it I guess.

I agree it looks childish, that’s why I suggested Novella. You could always just name her Nova. Or Nila, Natalia, Natalie (Though I find this childish, as well), Norah, etc. Perhaps name her Nova and end her middle name with the LEE/EE sound?

Thank you all so much for your help and suggestions! My husband and I have decided that we really like Novalie! To the last poster, that really is a great idea except that i promised my great grandmother years ago that i would name my daughter after her so we are using her name as the middle name and im not too keen on Nova by itself. Thanks again though!

My cousin is named Novalie because of an old country song! But I can’t remember the name of the song. She has two kids now and she likes to be called Novie now as a nickname. If anyone knows the name of that song please post. Her parents spelled it Novalie. I like the spelling of Novalie. Good for you.
