Getting teased vs. help!
I overheard mothers talking about children’s names in the preschool my son goes to. They said his name sounded "teen-momish". I found that offensive and obsurd. I am a teen mother but I strived to find a suitable name for my son. Does Landen Ryan really sound "teen-momish"? Help I’m freaking out!

Not at all. An old friend of mine named her son Landon and she had him when she was 24! They’re just being stupid

No not at all!! It is so cute! I know quite a few people shoes sons are named that and they are not teen moms. Just ignore what they have to say. Some people just aren’t nice and have negative comments on things. Don’t listen to them because Landen Ryan is ADORABLE! Good luck! Hope I helped!

Its modern, but I would not necessarily jump to "teen mom" when I heard it. I think the slight variation from the normal spelling of Landon makes it a bit more teen mom-ish.
But its still a respectable name, certainly not in the Nevaeh, Destiny, Macyn category. They probably know that you are a young mom so that’s why it seems like a teen mom name to them. But they had no right to be talking like that, its none of those lady’s business what you named your son. Take heart, in a few years no one will recognize how young you were when you had him.

I’m finding it hard to believe pre-schoolers would even know the term "teen mom" and all it implies.

She very wrote that it was the other children’s mothers whom she over heard taking..... Not the preschoolers.

That awkward moment when the above poster was trying to start drama but made themselves look dumb... The pre-schoolers’ mothers are obviously catty themselves. The term "teen-mom" is so stupid. A name is a name and it’s none of their business. Who cares? Landen is fine.

Wow how stupid are they. I love that name and there is nothing Teen momish about it. My cousin named her son Landon and she was 26.

I named my son Landon! I am 32 and I don’t think it is teen mom isn at all. It is your kid’s name. You go and tell them,"Hey I don’t like what you said about my kid’s name! I feel that it is a very handsome name. If you don’t like it, keep it to your self." I hope this helps.

Why are you worried about it? Unless their opinions bothered you so much you were thinking of changing his name, I don’t understand why you would post about it...

I wouldn’t call it "teen mom-ish," but it’s definitely very trendy at the moment, which might have been what they meant? That’s not a bad thing though! I tend to like traditional names best, but I think Landen sounds very handsome. When I think of "teen mom" names, usually intentionally misspelled names/made-up names come to mind, such as the Jayden/Jaden/Jaydyn, Brayden/Braiden, Kayden/Kaden, Jaxon, Ryker (Riker Island is a prison, people!!), Braxton, Bentley (are you going to name your next kids Subaru and Chevy?), Kamden/Kamdyn, etc.
Either way, I would consider those moms to be the low class ones by choosing to rake you over the coals in public. I think you’re perfectly justified in being upset.
Side note: sorry if I offend anyone by saying this, but misspelling your child’s name isn’t doing them any favors and they are the ones who’ll have to live with it, not you.

I cannot stand when people label names "teen mom!" I know plenty of mothers who have named their sons Landon and they’re definitely not teen mothers. Do I personally like the spelling you chose for Landen, not really, but it doesn’t scream "SHE’S A TEENAGE MOTHER!"
