Penelope vs. Pretty vs. Ugly
What are your honest thoughts on Penelope? I LOVE this name and it’s the only name I love, but literally everyone I tell it to says something rude about, thinks I’m joking, or brings up the pig movie. Although I am absolutely in love with this name, I don’t want my baby girl to be made fun of. I’m already into my last month of pregnancy. This is hard. WDYT? Thanks -Leah

Wow other people actually like it? Honestly no one has ever told me that they like the name before. I mean some people say it nicely, but most are plain rude.

I think it’s ok. I definitely prefer it to any of those boy names on girls or childish names like Chloe or Molly. But like a few posters have said, it is a little fanciful, so I suppose some might consider it a silly name. Penny is a nice nickname, though.

I’m personally not a fan, and I do associated with the movie about a girl with a pig nose. However, it’s much better than a lot of tacky, made-up names people are using these days.
