I rather like Aylwin, but it’s not much used in the US. Why don’t you just use Alvin rather than changing it? Alvin is a fine name. And I loved the Alvin Fernald books when I was a kid.

I like Alvin the best, then Elwin. I don’t like Alwyn at all...not at all

You could just use the Al part of Alvin in a name for your son.
Alistair
Alister
Alton
Alden

Alcott

i don’t like any of them, what about names that begin with al like

Allen
Alistair
Alexander
Albany

or names that end in vin
Galvin (my surname- can also be used as a first name gaelic for sparrow)
Calvin
Gavin
Kevin

or maybe you could just use the name Alvin as a middle name, because i can’t see it as a first name on a little boy e.g

Jack Alvin
Daniel Alvin
Joseph Alvin
Brendon Alvin
