Want the german Pronunciation vs. of Anneliese vs. How can I spell it?
I love the German pronunciation of Anneliese. Actually like both AH-nuh-LEE-zuh and AH-nuh-LEECE. I guess I just want the Ah-nuh rather than the an-uh. Problem is I don’t want to use Analiese because it has the word Anal in the name. Any suggestions on how we can spell so that the name isn’t always mispronounced?Thanks.

Perhaps Aneleise? It looks incomplete, though. Either way, people are going to mispronounce it whether you have Annaliese or not. If you want the AH ending, however, Just spell it the original way: Annalisa. Also, I like the AH beginning with the EESE ending more than the AH beginning with the AH ending.

Ana-liese would be easier to pronounce and the hyphen takes away the anal word. But I’d still be afraid kids would eventually in high school or something pick up on the obvious nickname and that would be very bad. Sorry GL.

I think the best you can do is Analiese since using hyphens makes the name ugly and so does placing an h... it’s just too much, also Ana is like ah-nuh, so most people should say it right based upon that spelling
