Tuppence vs. nickname options
I came across this name which belongs to an actress and immediately loved it. I know not everyone is going to like it, which is fine, but I was wondering what nickname options are available? We are quite big on nicknames. Thank you~ Elsie

Two Pence! I’d be careful with this name. It is also slang for [removed]. At least when you google it that is what comes up.

Apparently, you can’t use correct anatomy language on this site. So the removed language is reference for a lady part.

It actually is typically a nickname, not a given name. Agatha Christie wrote a series about characters named Tommy and Tuppence. Tuppence was actually named something else, but called Tuppence because she was so tiny. I think it’s adorable as a nickname, or I’ve been thinking of naming a pet Tuppence. I don’t think I’d use it as a given name for a person, though.

Just had a quick google myself. Thanks for telling me but I have never heard of it used in that way before. Will definitely take it into consideration.

Tuppence means two pence in England (English pennies) or in American English the equivalent of naming your kid two-pennies or two-cents.
