thoughts on the name Anemone for a girl please! We like the sea/ocean theme and her sister’s name is Coral. Also, if you don’t like this name, do you have any suggestions? thanks!

Not exactly sure how to say this but when I saw it I thought it was a boy. I have to say no.

I think it’s way too matchy to go with Coral. Also, many kids will have difficulty pronouncing it (think Finding Nemo :P). There are plenty of other sea/ocean themed names that wouldn’t be too "in your face"

Marina "from the sea"
Isla "island"
Kairi "sea"
Marin/Maren "of the sea"
Nerissa "from the sea"
Ariel (The Little Mermaid)
Pearl (beautiful oyster creations)

Imagine how hard this will be for a young child to actually say. Could lead to all sorts of speech problems. I definitely say no.

I think this is a nice name, but she and other child - and probably some adults will have issues with pronunciation. Maybe use Anemone as a middle name? Suggestions:
Aqua
Brook
Harbor
Laguna
Cordelia (means daughter of the sea)
Loire

Have you considered Bay? It’s short and sweet and will sound lovely with sister Coral.

How about....
Kai (or Kaia) : means "the sea"
