Just wondering what you guys think of the girl name Troian! I found it because of the one actress, Troian Bellesario I think? My husband and I fell in love with the name and we just found out that our little baby is a girl! We are considering Lily for a middle name. I wanted some opinions on it before we announce the name to everyone. Thanks!

Yeah, I don’t care for this name. It’s hard to find a meaning for, but the closest I’ve found is that it’s Slavic and means "father of triplet sons." I’m not even sure if that’s right. Maybe Troya?

I’d do Lily Troian or not use it at all. Autocorrect changed it to Trojan... A condom brand, not something I’d want to be named after.

Trojan isn’t just a condom brand. Its a warrior, a college school mascot. I know a few kids named Magnum and that’s a condom brand too, but they never get made fun of.
I like Troian a lot, especially because of the actress. It really fits her!

Thanks for the feedback, but we are decided on the name Troian Lily! It’s the right name for our daughter!
It’s not a condom brand and it doesn’t sound very close to Trojan to us. It obviously works on the actress and I also know someone with a six year old names Troian and they haven’t got anything but compliments on it!

Of course people are not going to make fun of her name to your face, but believe me they will be thinking "Trojan" in their heads like all of the earlier posts mentioned! If you really like it, go for it, but you did ask for an honest opinion, and we gave it to you.

I just find the name odd in general, from the spelling to the pronunciation. It’s interesting, for sure. I can see the Trojan thing being a problem, because at a quick glance that’s what Troian looks like.

It is weird and looks exactly like the trojan condom, people will be thinking it even if they don’t say it to her face and teens will say it believe me.
