Full name vs. for vs. Hedy?
I want to call my little girl Hedy (HEAD-ee), after the classic actor and scientist Hedy Lamarr, but I’m not fond of Hedwig as a full name (it will remind too many people of the owl from Harry Potter). Any other full names that would lend themselves well to this nickname? Thanks! - Elisa

not sure in this day and age that any name that sounds like "head" would not be an instant target for sexual innuendos and jokes, especially in high/middle school.

I love Hedy, and Hedy Lamarr is an amazing namesake! The only thing apart from Hedwig that comes to mind is Hedda, like Hedda Hopper.

I can almost guarantee once she gets to middle/high school she’s going to get something sexual because her name... Kids are mean and she will get something along the lines of head, just saying you may want to consider that.
