I like the spelling Elodie, and did not even think about the "die" connotation until you mentioned it.
Did I use connotation right?

Do you pronounce it el-oh-die? Nobody will make fun of her for that and I too did not notice it until you said something. Otherwise I think people won’t pronounce it right if you spell it differently
