Anna vs. Ah-nuh vs. Ann-uh

With the movie frozen out and both pronunciations acceptable how would you be more likely to pronounce this name? I’ve always pronounced it Ann-uh but now questioning it. Thank you

I’ve always pronounced Anna as Ann-uh an Ana as Ah-nuh. I think that’s fairly generally accepted anyway.

That was me too. I’ve always felt Anna was Ann-uh and Ana as Ah-uh. I think both are beautiful.

With 2 n’s I’d say Anna. I’d use 1 n if you want Ah-na pronunciation.

The pronunciation differs by language.
Ana is pronounced ON-ah in Spanish.
Anna is pronounced ON-ah in German.
Anna is pronounce ANN-ah in English.

I like the German pronunciation of Anna best. I’ve heard it pronounced both ways, although more commonly according to the English pronunciation. It’s really your choice. It works either way.

If it were spelled Anna, I would say Ann-uh. I wouldn’t even question if it were Ahn-uh unless it were spelled Ana. I much prefer Ann-uh and think it’s a sweet, simple name.
