Full vs. Name For vs. Peri

We are having our fifth baby, fourth daughter, and we want to call her Peri. But the grandparents are convinced it’s not a good name and is just a nickname. What do you think? Does it fit with her older siblings(Lara, Billie, Graham, and Nina)?Thanks- Dorothy and Cameron

I think it’s okay on it’s own. There are certainly a lot worse names out there. It will fit your others because you have a Billie also.

The only useable ’full’ name for this, that I can find is Peridot. But I’d sooner be a Peri than a Peridot lol.

There are a couple others but they’re not great to be honest....Experience, Imperia, Vesperia, Periwinkle...

It all depends on what you want, and how much of a stretch you’d be willing to go to. Personally I think Peri is okay on it’s own.

I think it’s nice and it sounds like a full name to me, but the spelling Peri looks like a nickname to me. I’d at least spell it Perry or Perrie so it looks more complete.

I have always loved the name Perenelle. Could also be spelled Perinelle or Peranelle. You could also go with Perenella if you like. Perenelle Flamel we the wife of the famous 14th century alchemist/scientist Nicolas Flamel. (And she also went by the nn Perry according to some sources. Not sure if that’s actually true) It is a name I have always been fascinated with for some reason. Best of luck.

I don’t like Peri, but I do think it’s perfectly fine as a full name. Maybe it’s just the spelling that makes it look like a nickname.
