Forget that it spells alone, check this out:

The Enola Gay is the name of the B-29 Superfortress bomber that dropped the first atomic bomb, code-named "Little Boy", to be used in war, by the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) in the attack on Hiroshima, Japan on 6 August 1945, just before the end of World War II. Because of the bomber’s role in the atomic bombings of Japan, its name has been synonymous with the controversy over the bombings themselves.

What about just Nola?

I, too, dislike the name Enola. It reminds me of canola oil for some reason. Or granola. I think I would prefer Nola to Enola. I also LOVE the name Nora or Norah, which is similar.

Other similar names that I love that you might like, too, are Eliza and Eloise.

I want to say it’s great that your mother is letting you name the baby. My parents also let me name my younger sister when she was born (in 1987). I was six at the time, and I named her after my favorite doll (!). Luckily, the doll’s name was Amy and my sister wound up being Amy Claire. It’s so special to both of us that I named her, and I’m sure that it will mean a lot to your sister, too!

Well I’m a tad older than six, more like fourteen. And I almost wish that my mother hadn’t given me the job. I’m very nervous I’ll pick a name that she won’t like as she gets older. It’s my mom’s way of making it up to me that I won’t be the only child after fourteen years or something.

Enola is a name from a movie that my mother saw a few years ago, Water World. She’s told me before that when she first saw the movie she wanted to use the name for a daughter someday. I don’t think she knows I remember, but I’d really like to use that as the name.

I just need a name that goes well with it. It makes me sad that it has so many negative conotations, but it’ll be special to my mother.

Any ideas at all?
