I don’t think it really works. I went to high school with a girl named Drew and I specifically remember one instance when she almost got sent to the office by a substitute teacher because the sub didn’t believe that she was in her assigned seat because he saw "Drew" on the chart and assumed it was a boy. It took every single one of us effusively promising that her name was really Drew to convince him that this wasn’t some prank. That incident kind of ruined boy names on girls in general for me.

I think it would be rather hard to be a girl named Drew. 99% of the Drew’s out there are male, either full name Drew or short for Andrew. Most people aren’t going to wonder if Drew is a boy or a girl, they are just going to assume she is a boy and that is going to lead to some very awkward moments when they find out she is not in fact a he.

It’s not the type of name I’d personally choose just because I tend to like frillier names but there’s nothing wrong with it.Plenty of people have heard of Drew Barrymore.I don’t see a girl having any real issues with having Drew for a name.

I love Drew on a girl. Some boy names just don’t work on girls, but Drew is one that actually does, in my opinion. Especially if you pair if with a very feminine middle name.

I’ve never liked Drew for either gender. I do think it suits a girl better than a boy.
