Popularity does not really bother me either. Having said that, I have never liked Ava during any stage of its popularity. I find Eva only slightly better but not by much. I prefer Evelyn and have since I was a little girl and stumbled across it. BUT, Ava isn’t a stupid name. It isn’t like you are naming your child Horse or something so of course you should use it if you want to. Regardless of popularity, I can’t find it pretty. I feel like it is a name which is trying to be pretty but fails

Ava is a beautiful name. Short and sweet and feminine. Easy to say and spell. Can’t go wrong. Since there are so many named Ava these days, there may be many in her class, a pretty middle name to go with the name and call her by Ava and middle name. Like Ava Grace. Ava Claire. Ava Jade.

Ava is very pretty, and I had considered it for a time until it got really popular and now it’s just a name I think is pretty but would never use.
