Codie Renée vs. Cody Rae

We’re having a girl, and we really like Tom boyish names. We like Codie/Cody, just not sure what spelling to go with. Suggestions?

Cody Rae sounds like a boy and since Renee is unisex too I would pick a clearly feminine middle name. It gives her more options when she is older especially if she doesn’t like Cody.

What about kodi or kody? And I would say go with a girly nickname incase she doesn’t like it so if she wants to go by a girls name she can. Like:

Cody would be sweet for a girl though I like the idea of a longer name with Cody as the nn. It’s nice to have options!
I’d go with Cody Renee of your choices.

I love Cody Rae! Cody is such a cute name on girls and I personally would only ever really consider Rae (spelled this way) on a girl.
I know of a girl named Kodee (pronounced Cody) and she has never had problems with her name. In fact, she loves it.
Also, how is Renee unisex???

Rene is a Latin boy name pronounced exactly the same way as Renee. So if you heard Cody Renee you would probably think boy. Just like if you only heard Cody Rae you would think boy. Most people only hear a name and don’t see it in writing.

I would go with Codie Renée. Even though Cody or Codie is too masculine in my opinion.

If I heard Cody Renee, I would think girl because if the middle name, which is very girly in America.

I like Renee and in the US it is almost always a girls name. Yes, I know Rene is a boys name; you just never hear it on a boy in this country.

Honestly they both sound like men, since the masculine forms Rene and Ray sound exactly the same.

If you’re going to use it, spell it Codie because it looks a little more feminine, although it still sounds masculine. If you spell it Cody, she’s almost guaranteed to get a letter from the federal government when she turns 18 telling her to register for the draft. Either way, she’s still going to have a boy-sounding name and it’ll probably irritate her.

I love Codie Renee, it is beautiful. I love Codie for a girl, I think it is sweet. Another suggestion, Codie Rebekah or Codie Rooxanne?
