twin vs. for vs. Evelyn

Expecting twin daughters: Evelyn (nn. Evie) and ???. We are considering: Claire, Caroline, Emmeline, Eloise, and others. Which name do you think would work with Evie? Should we just choose our second favorite name and not worry about finding a commonality between the girls’ names? All advice is welcome! Thank you.

I might choose a name that has a nickname like Evie so there is a subtle connection. So Caroline nn Carly or Carrie and Evelyn nn Evie. GL.

Personally I think the names should go well together but they don’t have to be matchy. Evelyn and Claire go well together. So do Evie and Claire - very sweet. Evelyn and Caroline is also nice. Emmeline I think is too close to Evelyn. Eloise I’m not fond of.

What is your second favorite name? If it’s like Holly and Molly, then no. If it’s not, then I’d say it’s ok.

Choose ur second favorite name or one that u like just as much as Evelyn. Or, pick a name that has special meaning to u. Example, my favorite girl name is Melissa, and my favorite girl name with meaning is Mercy. Hope i could help.

I don’t think you should worry about whether the names match too much, unless they are too close, rhyme, clash, or are too "matchy". But *most* of the time when people choose their favorite two names they naturally tend to be similar enough in style to go well. I think any of the names you mentioned would go well.

I am personally name Evelyn, Evie for short, and my twin sister is named Karie. Personally, I'd say Caroline or Katelyn.
