I love Kate. I’m going through the same thing. I want to name my daughter Katherine, because it has special meaning, but everyone else keeps telling me that it would be better as a middle name. Hannah is also a beautiful name, and the best choice when a person likes two names and can’t decide on just one, use both! Good luck!

Thanks both of you, I am still siding with Kate because i despretly do want to use the name for my first daughter, like I did in the dream, but Hannah still is calling to me!

And Jessica, you should go with Katherine as a first name, I have a friend named Katherine and we call her Katie. I think it’s beautiful.

Thank you. My only other quest of mine is to find a nickname for her. Katie, Kate, Kat, Kathy....people here say Katie is overused but Kate is strong and distinguished. Kate Winslet doesn’t even have a full name. She’s just Kate Elizabeth. I think I’ll make a poll. Other than that, Hannah would make a fine name for a second daughter!

Thanks Jessica! I posted on your other poll I say go with what you first say when addressing Katherine. Like when I think of my daughter being named Hannah, I often call her Hanny. And I have often thought of my daughter being Kate and I have called her Katie before. So it all comes natural! Don’t worry, she doesn’t even have to have a nickname if it doesn’t feel right. Don’t listen to anyone else, it should be what you feel.

Hmm, I’m think of Hannah for a second daughter. I did want Emma Faith as I’ve loved Emma since I was five, it was always my favorite name. And I can’t seem to give up Taylie Grace or Brookie Hope either. I think I’ll make Emma Faith the middle name for the second girl and name her Hannah Emma Faith, does that sound alright?

Hmm, Emma is really popular, and will still be in a little while. I’ve never been fond of it. Hannah Caroline was a long time favorite of mine. Taylie seems like it would be a nickname for Taylor. The same goes for Brookie, as Brooke. "Hannah and Kate" I like more than "Emma and Kate". So does Kate get a middle name? I just love coming up with combos. I have over 200...hehe :D

I do know Taylie and Brookie are nn for Taylor and Brooke, that’s how I found them and I really do like them.
As for Emma it is not popular where I live and I have loved it for a really long time.
Kate doesn’t have a middle name, in the dream I didn’t give her one and it didn’t seem fitting to give her one in rl. And I won’t. I have thought about Kate Hannah though it doesn’t flow as well as Hannah Kate. Maybe I will just save Hannah then. For my second daughter I will wait until she is born to decide whether she looks like a Hannah or an Emma Faith. Thanks for all your help!
