Norah (for a girl) vs. Noah (for a boy)

We are having a baby girl, and we absolutely love the name Norah. The only problem is, if we have a boy in the future (and we plan on having more kids), we might want to use the name Noah. We think that Norah and Noah sound too similar to be siblings though, so we need to decide if we like Norah for a girl better than we like Noah for a boy. What are your thoughts? What are some names similar to Norah?

I am literally in the exact same boat. I have a son, Noah, and we want a girl in the future and I love the name Nora. Unfortunately, I’ve decided to just do away with the Nora idea because they are too similar. Plus, I have a nephew, Nolan, and we don’t need any more confusion! Good luck! You have some great suggestions!

I much prefer Norah to Noah, personally. Also, Noah is so common that he’d probably have to go by Noah R. Or Noah S. in school. Also, even if you plan to have more children, there’s no guarantee you’ll have a boy! My mom is one of five girls and I know a lot of people with the same situation (keep trying for a boy/girl) as having that not work out...so if you want to save Noah for a son, but only have girls, you wouldn’t have a Noah or a Norah...sorry if that’s too personal! Not sure how else to phrase it.

I think both are lovely... You should definitely go for Norah. You could have five babies and never have a boy- go for the name you love now :)
