Sister name for vs. Malachy?
We’re trying to figure out which girl name goes best with Malachy Patrick as a sibling name. So far we like Finola or Nola, Maeve, Alaina, Blaire, and possibly Margaret. Which of those do you think goes best? And do you have any other Irish girl name suggestions? Thanks!

Oh oops, I forgot to say that Malachy is pronounced mal-uh-kee and not like Malachi. Thanks!

My favorites are Maeve, Blaire & Margaret.
I also like the suggestion of Erin & Elspeth.

Malachy is one of my all-time favorite names. Wow is it nice to hear it on a real child. :0)
As much as I love Maeve and Margaret / Mairéad, I dislike siblings sounding too matchy, like when they all have the same first initial. Two children wouldn’t be that contrived. Still, if there are other names not starting with an M that you love I’d go for them first. Wait. Malachy and Peg / Peig. That could push me into the Malachy and Margaret camp.
Finola, nn Nola, is great. I’m not the biggest Alaina or Blair fan. Suggestions for Malachy’s little sister:
Deirdre ("DEER-druh")
Cathleen -- nn Cat?
Sinéad -- ("shi-NAYD") -- Jeanette, so honors any Jeans, Janes, Johns, Seans, etc.
Siobhan -- ("shuh-VAHN") -- Joan, so ditto Sinéad
Niamh -- ("neev") -- "bright"
Clare -- for the county
Georgina -- I love M and J (sound) names together
Rhona
Ciara / Kiera -- "dark haired"
Nessa -- Irish folk lore character
Brigid
Devnet -- "fawn" -- how could would Mac and Dev be as siblings?
Grainne / Grania
Bronwen
Saoirse -- ("SEER-shuh") -- "freedom"
Nerys -- "lady"
Carmel -- Not Gaelic, but very popular in Ireland once. Both my parents have sisters named Carmel. They pronounce it, "CAHR-mul." Then again, Malachy and Carmela has a terrific ring to it as well.
Nolwenn -- Breton girl’s name -- "from Noyal"
Cerys / Carys -- Welsh girl’s name -- "beloved"
Kerensa / Kerenza -- Cornish variant of Cerys / Carys
Julia
Bernadette -- nn Birdy or Bette?
Angela / Angelica
Scholastica -- nn Scout?
Patricia -- nn Pax?
Yes, no, maybe so? Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks and good luck! :0)
P.S. I realize you probably already know how to pronounce these. I just like spreading the word for others who might not know them.

One more: Eibhlin.
I fell in love with it years ago when I thought it was pronounced, "EEV-lin." But most authorities have it closer to "ay-LEEN." I did get someone in Ireland to say that’s how it’s pronounced, but I think they were just trying to please me. Anyway, I give it to you to do with as you please. Evelyn might be easier and still works beautifully with Malachy. :0)
