Tamzin/Tamzon vs. Tamsin vs. Tamsyn

Tamzon/Tamzin was my great great grandma’s name which is a feminine form of Thomas. My husbands name is Thomas so I thought it would be a great way to tribute both sides. Tamsin, Tamsyn, and Tamzin are the spelling options I’m debating on. Tamsyn is medieval Cornish variation. Tamsin/Tamzin are normal. Which spelling is best? Also middle names would be great and I love nicknames when they are little so nicknames aside from the obvious Tammy, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I like Tamsin and Tamzin best! Tamzin Merchant is an English actress and I like Tamsin because it looks closest to Thomas. The name just sounds very quirky and well, English, to me. I kind of like the idea of using Thomasina as a full name though, but it might be too clunky for you.

Thank you I’m not that fond of Thomasina but it’s a nice name. Tamzin is a family name and my husband likes it. It’s pretty spelled Tamsin however I wanted outsider thoughts on it. We live in the US so she wouldn’t have that common of a name. Please vote and comment middle names and nicknames. Thank you :)

As a Tamsyn, I can say that I’ve always had some trouble with my name. But I love it, and wouldn’t change it. I never really had a nickname, and now I can’t stand it when people call me anything but my name.

When she’s a teen/adult I plan to call her Tamsin but as a little kid I want a nickname to make her name a little easier. We have decided we want her initials to be T.I.F. And we will call her Tiff. I really like Tamsin Isla F

As another Tamsyn, I, too, have had difficulties with people mispronouncing or misspelling my name. I have been called Tammy for short. My middle name is Skye, as in the Isle of.
