Kane vs. For a girl?
If we have a boy we love the name Kane! But my boyfriend loves it so much that he wants to name our daughter it if we have a girl. I love boys names on girls but this just seems a little too boyish. I’m on the fence about it, what do you think?
P.S If it’s a girl, I like the names Scarlett, London and Jessie

Im a mom of two girls.. Ryan Olivia and Blake Elizabeth..so i might be biased but i get so so so many compliments with there names. Kane for a boy is awesome and lovely for a girl as well. I had decided on ryan and blake before i knew there genders and it has worked out perfectly. Kane for a girl..go with it!

Not a fan of Kane for a boy or girl. I do like Lane. It’s a little bit softer than Kane.

As a middle name, I think it’s fine. As a first name, it’s a little harsh.

People use all boy names on girls, so I’m sure there are girls named Kane. It’s just as bad on a girl as the other boy names.
People who think it’s awful won’t say anything out of politeness and the few who like it will give compliments. So people who name their daughters Sawyer and Arthur and Elliot and Lucas will all talk about the compliments they get. They don’t mention that the majority of people who hear the name nod and smile and talk about the baby’s beautiful eyes or hair or something. That’s because nobody is likely to say, "Wow, that name is really bad."
You come to places like this to get unbiased comments by people who aren’t held back by the fear of damaging a relationship or of offending a mother who has already named her baby. That’s the value of a site like this, if you want real opinions on names. People throw around the word "hater" when others talk about the negatives of certain names. Isn’t it better to know the negatives before naming the child?
So, you’re right. Kane is not that good on a girl. People are going to think you wanted a boy. Your daughter will be called "he" and "him" a lot. If she’s the type who is sensitive to that sort of thing, it will be tough on her. Why potentially make her life difficult if you don’t have to?
Scarlett is pretty.

^ my name is Ryann and I couldn’t be more pleased with it. you have a lot of time on your hands and quite frankly... you must like really girly names which I think are awful.
Kane is lovely and it’s your child and she/he will make the name lovely. whatever you decide is best- don’t frame your decision off people you don’t know:) GL

Some people don’t have a problem with being mistaken for the opposite gender all the time. Some do. Do you know which your child will be?

That’s my son’s name so I am biased and only like it for boys personally. Would you like it if it were your name? I’m not saying you should or shouldn’t, just to consider it in order to make your decision.
