Vera is such a beautiful classic name that is underused today. I think it’s a very cool name and fits perfectly with Julien and Orlando!

I love Vera! It is an old classic, but it can also feel very modern and fashionable I think -- especially with designers like Vera Wang and Vera Bradley! Great name :)

I also forgot to add that she will be honoring grandmother Verna so we wouldn’t like to use a longer name with a nickname Vera as we think it will take away the effect

It’s one of my favorite names and near the top of my list for a future girl! It just has this timeless elegance to it and it’s beautiful without being too long or frilly. I would definitely use it!

Lovely name! And it ages so well -- adorable on a little girl and beautiful on a woman of any age. I say go for it!

I completely disagree with the first poster. Vera is surging in popularity right now. It entered the top 1000 girl names in the US in 2009 and is at #422 as of 2013, the last year for which numbers are available. That’s not terribly popular yet and if Vera does get really popular, it will probably be at least 4 or 5 years from now. The kids born in 4 or 5 years won’t really be in your daughter’s peer group until she’s an adult, so too much popularity isn’t going to be a problem either.

Actually I think this is a great time to name a child Vera. It’s popular enough to that’s it’s not extremely uncommon but it hasn’t gotten to the point of being too popular. Plus it’s a really pretty name.
