You must be very young or very ignorant. Rogue is a silly word for a human being to be saddle with. How would you like to be called a "name" that means "an unprincipled, deceitful, and unreliable person; a scoundrel or rascal or a wandering beggar". I mean really get a grip and pick something your child wouldn’t be embarrassed to bear. Rogue is a name which will bring much joking and ridicule.

Rogue isn’t a very wise choice for anyone. It may sound cool but it’s quite ridiculous when you know the meaning of the word.

I would advise you to keep looking for a unique name that is actually wearable in the real world. Your child isn’t a Marvel cartoon or an X-Man. It’s a human being.

Despite the last five posts and the haters that wrote them, I happen to think that Rogue is a fine name. Unique, cool, strong, and pretty d*mn badass, but not at all over the top. I like it. And if you want to use it, you should. He’s YOUR son. :-)

These comments are perfect. There is nothing here that the poster or son is not going to hear should this name be chosen. The point of posting on this sight is to get a cross section of public opinion.
In saying that my opinion is I would never use it because I can’t see if working in a professional situation.
However in saying that the kid may well pull of this name beautifully and be the opposite of its meaning.

I plan on making my daughter Rogue. We have chosen Rogue Ember as her name. I think if you judge a name only by its meaning then I’ve failed. My name is Cherokee and it means one who speaks many tongues, which I can tell you I can’t do. We live in a world where you can name your kid after fruit and it’s OK. So if you want to name you child after a hero, go for it.

Cherokee I'm looking for inspiration for my daughter and rogue was my number one choice followed by Ember! Love that you used both! I was considering Ember Rogue!
