We are closer in naming to Europe than America (in Europe Sasha is more a male name than female).

Never for a boy! It is perfect for a girl, though.

If you live in Russia or Europe, that would be fine for a boy. If you live in the USA, it wouldn’t work because Sasha is a girls name here.

My friend’s name is Alexandra, and she goes by Sasha (she is Russian), so it’s difficult for me to picture the name being used for a boy. It seems like such a feminine name, like many names ending in "a." If you’re set on using it, I like a different spelling variation (Sacha or Sascha) to look more like a foreign boy’s name. Looks like most boy names use those spelling variations, like in Germany and France: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sasha_%28name%29
