Brecon (breck-en) vs. Different Spelling?
Brecon(as in Breconshire in Wales) is pronounced breck-en. Should we keep the original spelling or go with a different spelling? My sister suggested the spelling of Breckin and my boyfriend’s mother suggested Brekkon. ~Catelynn

Keep the spelling that has the connecion to the place. I would automatically pronounce Brecon and breck-en as is. It’s also the most meaningful (and honestly, least tacky) spelling. Good luck!

If you live in the British Isles, spell it Brecon. If you live in the USA, spell it Brecon or Breckon. The alternative spelling suggestions by your sister and MIL look pretty bad.
