Maxton vs. Maxson vs. Maxwell/Maximilian

What do you all think about the names Maxton/Maxson. I want my son to have the nickname Max. I also thought of the names Maxwell and Maximilian. I posted earlier and someone suggested Maxton, and I thought it was cute. I would like opinions. Thanks! -Lauren

Maxwell. Maxson and Maxton sound, and very well could be, entirely made up!
Just Max works, too.

I love Maxwell! Maxton is okay. Maxson is too much like Jackson/Jaxon, imo. But Maxwell is so classic and handsome and Max is adorable.

Maximilian (nn Max) and Max (on its own) are great. The rest don’t do much for me, sorry.

Other variants you might like: Maxim, Maxime, Maksim ("mak-SEEM"), Magnus. Max could work as a nickname for any of them. Good luck! :0)

I like Maximilian best, followed by Maxwell! Maxton/Maxson sound like the tired trend of using "surnames" as first names. Okay if you actually have a connection to it as a family/friend’s name, but falls flat when you pick it out of thin air. Also, the -s in Maxson is probably unnecessary because I’m assuming it’s pronounced Macks-en, not macks-son, which sounds very stilted.

Maxim is the name of a magazine. Maxwell or Maximilian is best. The other two look too fake.
