Bridget Viola vs. Elizabeth Viola

Okay, we’re still pretty undecided with our daughter’s first name, but your votes and comments were awesome in helping shed light on it all! Thank you! Now, with the middle name Viola, do both names still work? Husband is very determined to use it. Help!!! If you have an opinion about the mn, we’d love to hear it. Thanks again! Big sister Julianna Rose is 13 months old :)

I love Bridget. Elizabeth is so overused.

I can see why you are having a tough time choosing.I love both first names and was previously leaning towards Elizabeth which is what I voted for in your other poll but now with the middle name added in,I definitely prefer Viola paired with Bridget which is what I voted for in this poll.

Yes, poster 2, it’s quite a pickle...I love both names but think Elizabeth sounds better paired with a mn like Grace or Mae. My husband’s adament about using a family name which both Grace and Mae are, so I may just need to work on making a STRONG case for one of them if we decide to go with Elizabeth. Thanks so much for your comments!

I’m not crazy about Viola, I like Violet better, but Viola is still pretty.

How are you pronouncing Viola? It makes a difference in flow, at least for me.

(1) "VIE-uh-luh" -- the British way
(2) "vie-O-luh" -- the U.S. way
(3) "vee-O-luh" -- the musical way
(4) other

That’s a lie. I still vote for Bridget. I’m just curious on how people pronounce this name. Good luck! :0)

FredaCat,we pronounce it "vie-O-luh". She’s my husband’s great-grandmother, and Bridget is my great-great-great grandmother who came over from Ireland in 1869.
