Personally, I pronounce it Cal-ix. I kind of prefer the Cay-lix pronunciation but I was first introduced to the name via Cal-ix, plus my own name is Alix so it stuck out.


I believe the name is from Calista, which is Cuh-lista/Cal-ista but I’ve definitely heard Calix pronounced both ways. I’m not sure which is the original or if both are correct.

I’d pronounce it Caylix, like the renal calyx. Haha. Do you know your anatomy?
