Maisie Elizabeth vs. Wdyt?

Wdyt of the name Maisie Elizabeth? My husband and I have been trying to conceive for almost 3 years and just as we were looking in to IVF we found out we were expecting. We are having a girl this fall and really like the meaning or Maisie which is "wished for" which she very much was. Elizabeth is after my mom who sadly passed away late last year. If you don’t like Maisie could you suggest names that mean wished for/ wanted/ prayed for...those kinds of names.

I think it’s lovely.
Although I’m pretty sure Maisie means ’pearl’ it’s still a lovely name.

Very pretty! There are so many names that have multiple meanings it just depends where you look, my name has like 3 different meanings. Even if I does mean " pearl" it’s still a nice meaning since pearls take a while to "make".

Desiree means desired for.
I have a friend who named his daughter grace, because that had her by the "grace of god." They waited a long time for her.

I really like Maisie Elizabeth. Although I agree that most places do seem to say it means Pearl.

Other names you could consider (although I think Maisie is great!):
Evelyn - wished for/desired
Ava - Desired
Abeni - ’we asked for her, and behold, we got her’ although Abeni is very unusual.
Amy - beloved
Cara - beloved
Caramia - my beloved

Maisie is pretty but may be a little girlish for a woman.

Evelyn means "Wished for child"
Jane means "Gift of God"
Mia,Maria,Miriam, or Mary which come from the same root and mean "wished for child"
Myra which means "longed for"
Shaya meaning "God’s gift" in Hebrew
Adia which means "Gift"
Desiree which means "much desired"
Eliana means "God has answered" in Hebrew
or Natalie which is a root of the Hebrew name Nathaniel which means "Gift of God"

I wish you the best and may Yahweh bless you with your new gift!

Maisie is a nickname for Margaret and it’s variations and Margaret means "pearl". Lots of sites and books aren’t completely accurate and that’s unfortunately the case with the one you came upon. Do more research, especially with reputable names sites like behindthename.

Marguerite nn Maise Elizabeth would get my vote. That way she can have a full name for formal purposes and still have the nn you like.

Maisie’s too cutesy for me, and that’s a lot of Z sounds paired with Elizabeth.
