At first I thought it was a creative spelling of Mason and after reading I think you want it pronounced Mack-son? Not really a fan. I think you could use any Mc name to get Mack

McCoy
McCall
Macon
Macaulay

I know a little boy named McKinley James and they call him Mac. (I don’t know how they are spelling McKinley). They spell his nn Mac.

Macsen is really a name, its the Welsh form of Maxim, a valid variant is Maxen and yes, you could still call him Mac.

Anything that starts with Mac or Mc can have the nickname Mack. Since Mac or Mc literally means "son of", it’s common in lots of surnames turned first names.

Macauley
Maclean
Macgregor
Macdougal
Macarthur
Mckay

Or you could go with Cormac and call him Mack.

I love this name too! The correct spelling really is Macsen and it has been around for hundreds of years. There is always Maxen though. I think you could still call him Mack I mean people get Bob from Robert so why not!

I like Macsen. But I dislike creative spellings of traditional names. So if you’re not absolutely in love with Macsen how about Malcolm, Magnus or Cormac instead? ("COR-mc") Good luck! :0)

I was thinking Mackenzie would be a good way to get this nickname but I’ve been seeing more girls get this name recently so maybe not.

Love the idea of Malcolm though!

I don’t like the sound. And the spelling it bad, because at a quick glance, it looks like it should be said like Mason. I would spell Mackson or Maxson or something so people know how to say it.
