I really dislike it, sorry. I find it to be very harsh on the ears. It looks so made-up and trendy and I could see her being teased because the first syllable is so similar to a derogatory term. It’s important to love your child’s name but it’s more important that they love their name and that it represents them well throughout their life. If you are getting a lot of negative feedback I would at least take it into consideration because you aren’t just naming your child you are naming another human being and the feedback you are getting now might be a glimpse of the feedback she will get about her name during her life.

Heck YES you love it even if the family doesn’t!! This is your baby not their’s, they all have had or will have a chance to name their own children. I know countless people, including myself, who chose names some family members disliked and even hated and those family members eventually loved the name. If you don’t choose it because of what they think and you really love it, you’ll regret it.
I think Azlynn is really pretty actually. I also love the spelling Aislyn. If you spell it with an s you could use the nn Asa (ay-suh) which I think is stunningly beautiful.
GL!

Aislin is pronounced Ash-lynn and that isn’t the pronunciation we like.
Poster 2- We are taking the negative feedback into consideration, that is why we made this poll. I should make it clear that we are not getting a lot of negative feedback, actually most from friends, family, and coworkers has been extremely positive so we are taking even minimal dislike into consideration. We do love the name and unfortunately we cannot ask our daughter what she thinks, I wish we could haha!

I actually find it very beautiful but prefer the spelling Aislyn. Definitely use the name YOU love. People tend to automatically dislike a name they’ve never heard or even one they’re not used to hearing without even thinking about it. Thus the great Jennifer, Ashley, and Amanda boom. It’s good to be original so long as it’s not something ridiculous like spelling Kaite Kaeydiee or something lol. If you are seriously in love with it though, do not let your family deter you. I think it’s a perfectly acceptable name and quite beautiful.

I like it. You could easily pronounce Aislyn the way you want it, but I like both spellings. I tend to want to pronounce Azlynn as Azz-lyn though. But I have a name people don’t always pronounce correctly at first sight and correcting them wasn’t really a bit deal. It was worth having a unique name (I have an Irish name so a lot of those are hard for Americans to pronounce anyway).

I really don’t like Azlynn(ayz-lynn) and it looks as though it would be just as it is spelled, az-lynn. Azlynn might look cute on a baby or little girl, but it won’t look very good on a teenager or very professional on a grown woman with a career. And it isn’t very attractive even on an infant or 5 year old to me either, sorry. Jazmine, Adelyn, or Ainsley would be better in my opinion.

A lot of you are saying that you like the spelling Aislyn, but we are worried about considering this because both my husband and I have Irish blood in us and the name Aislinn is Irish, it is also pronounced Ash-lynn whereas we are wanting it to be said AYZ-lynn. So we don’t want to consider Aislyn, but if there are any other spellings you can think of that look nice we are open to considering them!

I would’ve said it like As-lin. I would spell it differently if you want it said your way, maybe Aizlyn?
That being said, I don’t like it at all. It sounds weird and trendy.

Way too trendy and honestly, it sounds very trashy, sorry. I really dislike it and agree with the eleventh comment, it will definitely not look very good at all once she gets into middle school/junior high, high school, college, or the real world and starts working. It’s always great to see that you love a name even though your family members don’t but this name is just not good at all, sorry.

I dislike the sound, sorry. And by the look of it I would have thought it was "AZ-lin" not "AYZ-lin." Ayslynn? Nope. Aislynn. No, too similar to Aislinn. Ayzlynn? Yikes.
I’m Irish (U.S.) too and have always disliked the way Aislinn / Aisling gets butchered. I know you know the difference. It’s just my inability to separate the two. It’s giving me a bad vibe toward Azlynn. That, and I tend to dislike creative names anyway. Could I interest you in Ainsley? ("AYNS-lee") http://www.behindthename.com/name/ainsley It’s trendy too, but seems like it would be easier to live with. Or not. Up to you of course. Good luck! :0)
