Ellabelle Gretchen vs. Elebelle Gretchen vs. Elabelle Gretchen

Both mine and my husband’s grandmothers have passes away within the last year and we would like to honour them. My grandmother’s name was Eleanor and my husband’s was Isabelle. We have come up with Ellabelle/Elebelle/Elabelle to honour both of them. We can’t decide on a spelling though! Help! The middle name will be Gretchen.

No matter how you spell it, this name really isn’t going to work out well. It’s way too repetitive. It sounds like a "cutesy" nickname given by a loved one; not a name for a child who will grow up to be an adult and need to get a serious job.

Other ideas to combine the names:
Nora-Belle
Leanor Belle
Isa Leanor
Elle Gretchen

I really do hate to rain on your name, but I agree with poster 1. :1 As a nickname, it is nice, but otherwise... :’( Sorry! Did they have middle names, maybe? Or is there a different combo you like? Again, I’m really sorry. If you want to use Ellabelle/Elebelle/Elabelle that is YOUR and your husband’s decision to make, not some strangers on the Internet. However, we are giving you our 100% honest opinion. Good luck!

I guess, Ellabelle. Sort of agree with Poster 1.

Other ways to combine them:
Elisa/Elise/Alissa
Illeana
Lisa
Risa
Leslie
Elsie/Elsa
Sara
Elena
Nerissa
Etc.

I agree with the previous posters.

Nora Belle Gretchen (first name, two middle names - can use Norabelle as a nickname)
Alora/Elora Gretchen (using letters from Isabelle and Eleanor)

Sorry to say, I have to follow the pack. Ellabelle sounds just fine for a cute name to call her at home, or maybe even a middle name, but not for a future adult. However, if this is the name you’re set on, I like the spelling of "Ellabelle" the best.

Ellabelle is really cute, and I would definitely spell it this way. The other spellings look odd and confusing.
